The Family Support Fund benefiting Boston Children's Hospital is hosting the 30th Annual Charity Golf Tournament in memory of Bernice and Philip Frieze on July 17.

About Boston Children's Hospital

Founded in 1869, Boston Children’s Hospital is dedicated to improving and advancing the health and wellbeing of children around the world through its life-changing work in clinical care, biomedical research, medical education and community engagement. 

Bernice and Philip Frieze founded the Family Support Fund benefiting Boston Children’s Hospital in 1974 to help families whose children are treated at the hospital. The fund provides assistance for their emergency needs and the indirect expenses of a child’s diagnosis, treatment and hospitalization, which are often not covered by insurance or any government programs.

Through your participation and the generosity of our donors, we have raised $5.7 million for the fund since 1994 through our annual charity golf tournament, helping Boston Children’s Hospital cover groceries and food, rent, utility bills and transportation costs to meet families needs.

The fund helped Boston Children's Hospital disburse over $451,000 in 2022 and supported:

• More than 400 individual patient family transactions
• More than 12,000 meal cards
• Rent payments for nearly 50 families
• Nearly $100,000 in gift cards to help cover clothing, toiletries and other necessities
• Partial coverage for 1,540 stays at Homewood Suites by Hilton
• More than $95,000 for assistance with utility bills and transportation costs
